Door 8 of 24: Certify the way to a job

The insight behind today's door that helped me to get into success in the 2020s is the possibility of online certifications!

After another opportunity was delayed just only days before it was to be started, I felt I had to find new ways. I stumbled upon the possibility of getting certifications for knowledge within my field.

I remember from secondary school that teacher told us that especially Microsoft certifications could have a lot of weight when applying for some jobs.

There is only quirk - they cost a bit. But with my royalty and the annual closings approaching, I should make use of the last days of the year to make investments before the year ends, because it would reduce the taxable amount. That is good since I have study loan and too big profit from the company might make me liable to pay back my study loan and benefits, so I should spend a little.

One of my hobby now is to read newspapers from the 90s. The society wasn't so much better than it was today. Sick people was denied or capped on their benefits, rules become stricter, lot of crime, public facilities cut down their services, uncertainty in the markets and so on, but the different is that in the past we read the newspaper in the morning, today we are flooded with news, not to mention all fake news on social medias. It creates frustration.

But one thing I see in the ads in the issues at the end of the year was the funny term "Bokslutsbil" (Closing balance cars). The car reseller want companies to buy expensive cars because they can deprecate one year on the purchase value already the current year or the whole if the value of the asset is lower or the lifetime of usage is lower than 3 years legally according to Swedish tax laws.

It can mean lot of money in lower tax.

For me it is the same so my plan is to put some money into periodization fund but also purchase the voucher to a Google Mobile Web Development Specialist certification, which if passed, would get me a valuable certification to put on my resume issued by Google which is valid for three years, which is a good merit, but also during that time feature my name and contact details in Google's own registry of certified developers which could mean a new way to get commitment. The price is not astronomical - about 149 USD - it is cheap for a such powerful certificate when comparing what it could mean for my career. 

However, when I search about it, there is mixed opinions about if it would help to get new commitments, but I assume it would not hurt, and on forums people mostly writes if it are bad I think, and I think that more also applies for more obscure certificates but Google is very serious when looking for remote commitments. Google's certification is great - agencies can certify . their ads services.

This would be a great Christmas gift to myself, and I will focus on it.

This could so be the 2019 successor to Spotify interest in 2009 because it covers the concern on getting feature on a good company, working with fast rendering engine and learn about it (The course covers that about rendering engine!). PWA can be great responsive as native app if it done correctly like service workers and more.
