Door 11 of 24: Commuting and flexible housing

Behind the 11th door of the Sufferbuying calendar is the insight of commuting and flexible housing.

From our experience last semester is that many employers or contractors are open to remote working from another city, but they want on site presence much initially and regulary. We also read earlier this winter in Breakit that there has come new initiative for temporary housing solutions for top talent because the knowledge within technology is a high demand but scare skilll, so many companies are open to help their employers or contractors with alternating solutions for housing like night apartment or buying whole apartments.

From our own empiric experience with a recent client, it testify that initial starting a new contract or employment often need presence initially.

With that in mind, I should begin realize that there might be an additional option between staying in Sufferbuying and finding an apartment in another city. An option that would allow me to continue live in my apartment in Sufferbuying but still take an (initial) on site job in another city without having to manage to find an apartment in another town, at the expense of some mental power and need to change my views at bit.

So next time I will speak to an employer or potential contractor, if they say I must be present at the site, I will not longer turn down the offer, but instead ask if it is possible if the contractor/customer are able to offer temporary accommondation or commuting solutions for me so I can take the job but be there initially and regulary at some time, altough it means some regular travelling time.

I think a solution in which I could stay in Sufferbuying but in the two first week, live in an accomondation the company offer and then work remotely from suffferbuying but get to there two days a week. It is lot of travel, but I think I have to realize I have to work harder for money than now, because I cant just stay home all the time, I need to get out. But instead it will give me better finances so I can pay off my debts and collect savings.

As such solution would demand more mentally so I have to give up other mental challenging things such other own projects so I get time and energy for sleep, but I feel in that case I've done enough with own projects as I've shown my proof and now consolidate my interest with that job and what it brings aside for me, with less financial worrying in exchange.

This solution requires an opportunity with an contractor/employer that is open for it off course.

But as I can't get any other kind of help, I will still continue study and live on study loan during spring and I've now secured admission onto two new courses that will fill up 75% study.

I will off course take them although I might get another offer, as a life line because my finances would crash otherwise and I cannot get any other kind of benefit without too big consequences for me due to my situation with my company.

The ability to find the solution between staying in Sufferbuying but still take partial on site commitment on companies and partial remotely and not moving completely was one of the solutions that lead me to the success in 2020s with job and fixed finances!
